Antibacterial Effect of Anatolian Ethanolic Propolis Extracts on Clinical Strains of Helicobacter pylori Research at Blacksea Technical University investigated the antimicrobial activity of 30% BEE'O UP Propolis extract on Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori) causing gastric ulcer. Since propolis contains many bioactive substances, its phenolic and flavonoid content was also quantified. The anti-H. pylori and anti-urease activities of 15 different ethanolic propolis extracts were tested. The results showed that all propolis extracts highly inhibited H. pylori and the urease enzyme,confirming the antibacteial activity of BEE'O UP 30% propolis drop. The degree of inhibition was related to the phenolic content of the the extract. The authors concluded that propolis extract was a good inhibitor that can be used in H. pylori treatment to improve human health.*
